Rachel A. Parsons, M.A.
Rachel Parsons is the founder of Fratres Dei Spiritual Direction and Ministries. She serves on the board with Spiritual Direction Colorado and is a minister at People House Denver. She has also served as both a hospice and hospital chaplain. She received her Master of Arts in Spiritual Formation and Soul Care from Denver Seminary and her Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of North Carolina at Asheville. Her graduate research centered on the inherently physical nature of human spirituality. She has since designed the practice of Body Discernment, a synthesis of somatic therapeutic practices for spiritual growth. Rachel has received formal training in the Immanuel Approach, Bethel Sozo, and HeartSync, an imagination-based meditation method for addressing issues of self-disintegration. Her poetry has been published in Spiritual Direction International's journal, Listen: A Seeker's Resource for Spiritual Direction. Always looking for new ways to explore embodied spirituality, she teaches monthly ecstatic dance classes and leads church groups and other spiritual communities in a series of body-centric contemplative seminars. Rachel specializes in body-spirit integration, head-heart connection, discernment, occupational / ministry burnout, intimacy with God, issues of anger with God or misotheism, faith crisis, fellowship with nature, the dark night of the soul, spiritual / religious trauma, and LGBTQIA+ issues (affirming). She takes particular care to maintain a hospitable space to encourage authentic reflection, and she is happy to host outdoor sessions which involve short countryside walks upon request. Video chat and telephone sessions are also available. Schedule a FREE first session at her website.
